General Foot Problems
This section explains some of the more common foot problems treated at the Podiatrist's office. You will find information on the topics of conservative (and surgical) care of bunions, hammertoes, arthritic joint problems, plantar fasciitis, neuromas, warts and fractures.

Podiatric Surgery
If your problem does not adequately respond to conservative care, then surgery may be an option. Corrective operative procedures, including prosthetic joint implants, plastic surgery and other bony deformity correction techniques for the alleviation of various foot and ankle disorders are done in this office. These include hammertoes, bunions, heel spurs, 'pump bumps' and other maladies.

Orthopaedics/Biomechanics
The prevention, diagnosis and treatment of imperfect foot structure and function through the use of prostheses, orthoses, appliances, physical therapy, medications, exercises and special footgear. The is also important in the treatment of athletes involved in activities causing repetitive stress and long-term effects of minor--and major--injuries.

Wound Care
The care and education of diabetic patients and the prevention of wounds is an important part of our practice as well. Once a wound develops, healing that wound through proper wound care management requires expert skill. The coordination of services with your primary care physician (and possibly vascular surgery, if needed) are important in healing the wound and helping prevent its recurrence.

Sports Medicine
Any number of injuries can occur with sports participation. These can be mundane (strains and bruises) or be seriously debilitating (compound fractures and muscle/tendon tears). All the injuries within this range are of equal importance to the athlete, as it hinders (or stops) performance and need to be addressed. Hopefully, the treatment and healing course can be achieved without excessive downtime.
